The Metris LK HC90 horizontal arm CMM can be set up easily for dimensional inspection at the end of the production line. The “Dynamic Temperature Compensation” (DTEC) option provides the highest measurement precision in a temperature range from 10 to 35°C. Equipped with the Metris XC cross-scanner gap & flush measurements can be done in a fast, fully automated way.

For customers it is important that doors close smoothly i.e. they close firmly with a minimum of effort. This can be validated at the end of the production line by measuring the displacement and velocity of the door relative to the body during door closure using the K-series DMM dynamic capabilities.

Assembly troubleshooting

Even when systematic quality control is done on individual components, some issues only become noticeable on the trim line e.g. the spare wheel doesn’t fit smoothly into the boot trunk. At that moment it is important to have a portable, multi-purpose measurement system that can be brought to the factory floor to measure problem vehicles coming from the line. The K-series portable CMM system is ideal for this. Positions of features and reference points can be measured using the SpaceProbe touch probe, while the shape of (mating) surfaces can be captured with the K-Scan laser scanning probe. These measurements provide powerful insights for assembly troubleshooting.
